Roma are believed to be weighing up a New Year move for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, with reports suggesting Luciano Spalletti is willing to pay as much as £30million for the striker.

The Dutch international has been linked with a host of clubs from around Europe over the past few months, with AC Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester United amongst his admirers. However, former Giallorossi player and transfer consultant Alberto Faccini has revealed Spalletti’s interest.

Apparently, the Serie A side tried to land the Ajax player during the summer transfer window, and whilst no agreement could be reached, they remain eager and could well make a renewed effort to sign the 25-year-old during the January transfer opportunity.

“I spoke to Lupi sporting director Daniele Prade and he asked me for information on the player,” Faccini told Power Station. “There has been an offer or any concrete request from Roma for the player, but I'm sure Huntelaar will weigh up the offers during the winter.

“He could move in January, but at the moment
Ajax are taking some time to consider their options. Huntelaar would be useful to Roma. However, we must remember that it wouldn't be an easy transfer, not least because Real Madrid are still interested in him.”
