Genoa have announced the signing of Thiago Motta, just hours after they put in the performance of the weekend with a 2-0 victory over AC Milan.
The Rossoblu bounced back from an opening day defeat at Catania to record an excellent 2-0 win over Milan at Marassi, with Giuseppe Sculli and Diego Milito grabbing the goals to add more misery onto a Rossoneri side still looking for a first Serie A triumph of the new campaign.
And to cheer the home supporters even more, it has now been confirmed that Motta has penned a four-year contract with the club. The Brazilian was released by Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, and had been linked with moves to Milan, Juventus and Manchester City.
But after passing a number of stringent medical tests with Genoa, the former Barcelona player put pen-to-paper on Sunday evening, becoming the eight addition to the squad since last season.
