Younes Kaboul’s Agent Tell It Like It Is

It’s currently being widely reported that Sunderland are set to sign Younes Kaboul, Pascal Chimbonda, Steed Malbranque and Teemu Tainio for £23 million from Tottenham.

However I don’t think that the deal will go through 100% smoothly. Sometimes a footballer may not want to leave and will cite reasons such as family for not wanting to travel. In this case, Younes Kaboul would have to set sail from the glamorous lights and stardom of London to the grim North of England to the even grimmer Sunderland.

In a quote that has given all Newcastle fan’s a laugh, Kaboul’s agent Rudy Raba has come out with this brilliant quote:

“Younes wouldn’t join Sunderland even if there was an earthquake - we have more interesting options than Sunderland. Don’t even think about it."

I guess he really doesn’t want to move oop north then.

In a further blow to the Black Cat’s transfer hopes its rumoured that Steed Malbranque favours a move to either Everton or a visit ten miles up the road to Newcastle. I love this football merry go round

I must say, I think Kaboul's wrong on this one. From what I've seen, I think he has the potential to be a really good defender, and a move to Sunderland would be perfect for him: a big club; good crowds; impressive young manager; it's an exciting time at the Stadium of Light. What more does this guy want, because I don't recall any of the Big Four showing an interest.

Kaboul has a high opinion of himself for somebody who's lucky to see actual football pitches at any point during the season. Warm the bench at Tottenham or expose your talent at another Premier League club? It's Carlo Cudicini Syndrome again!
